Hi there.

Jill Brown has over 15 years of experience in the field of photography. She has studied photography at Missouri State University and Maryville University, St. Louis. She spent time working on her personal fine art work for many years and in 2003 started her first wedding and portrait photography business in St. Louis, MO. Jill moved to Des Moines, IA in 2005 and has continued her wedding and portrait business along with her fine art photography. Jill currently has work displayed in and around the Des Moines area as well as work in personal collections around the world. Jill uses both medium format film cameras and digital formats to create her images. This is how the artist describes her work: “My work is a reflection of everyday life and places. I chose the medium of photography as a tool to capture the essence of the person or place. I create images to depict the subject as they are remembered in the mind. Not posed or unnatural, but as a window into the intimate world of the subject.” Jill Brown is a member of Professional Photographers of America.

New Website is LIVE!

I have been working on my website for the last 2 days.  My dear, sweet and very, very smart husband had been working on the background server stuff for the 3 days before that and it's finally done!  (almost!)  There are a few tweaks we need to do such as the "Contact" form isn't working right now, but that should be resolved soon.  I am very excited about it!

Go check it out!!

Fleming Construction

I had the privilege once again to do an interior shoot for Fleming Construction.  It was a beautiful renovation of a kitchen, dining room and living room complete with a two-sided fireplace.  Amazing.  Check it out!

Vegas Baby!

Last weekend, my handsome husband and I went to Las Vegas.  This was my very first time going and oh boy was I in for a treat!  So I know people say it all the time... but it really is a 24-hour adult fun park!  We had a wonderful time... gambled a little (lost some), ate great food, saw the Titanic exhibit, watched the fountains, shopped... FUN!  It is certainly not a place to go to relax, but it is OH so much FUN!

I documented our trip with my iPhone.  Here are some of my favorite images taken and edited on my iPhone of our trip!

The first night we were there we went down to the old part of Vegas.  Here is the Fremont Casino.

...and here is Pioneer.

This is a view from our hotel room at Harrah's of Carnival Court.

This is at the newest casino: The Cosmopolitan.  It has a chandelier that cascades down several floors!

Dave and I on the plane headed back home.  :)

A view of Las Vegas from the plane.

Here's a view of what I think is part of the Rockies from the plane.  A little while later we saw the snow-capped mountains, but this was actually my favorite shot.

Interview with Jill Brown!

I was recently asked to be interviewed by a blog called 50 Picks Daily.  It was pretty exciting.  I haven't been asked to do anything like this before and I have to say - it was a little hard to talk about myself, but a WHOLE LOTTA FUN!  Haha!  Thanks Prema for the opportunity!

Here's the link to my interview along with 50 samples of my work!

C+A = Engaged!

Christine and Andrew met me at my studio where we started a very awesome and fun engagement session!  We began with studio shots and then headed outside to the snow!  We are very lucky - it was beautiful outside... a little cloudy, snow falling every once in a while and not too cold.

It was so nice to spend Sunday morning with you, Christine and Andrew!  I am looking forward to your wedding in August!
