Jill Brown has over 15 years of experience in the field of photography. She has studied photography at Missouri State University and Maryville University, St. Louis. She spent time working on her personal fine art work for many years and in 2003 started her first wedding and portrait photography business in St. Louis, MO. Jill currently has work displayed in and around the Des Moines area as well as work in personal collections around the world. Jill uses both medium format film cameras and digital formats to create her images. This is how the artist describes her work: “My work is a reflection of everyday life and places. I chose the medium of photography as a tool to capture the essence of the person or place. I create images to depict the subject as they are remembered in the mind. Not posed or unnatural, but as a window into the intimate world of the subject.” Jill Brown is a member of Professional Photographers of America.

A beautiful day for a wedding...

Rebecca & Chase
May 22,2009
Norwalk, IA

Ceremony: Norwalk Christian Church
Reception: Echo Valley Country Club

You couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day for a wedding. The sun was shining and the sky was dotted with a few fluffy white clouds in a sea of blue. Rebecca and Chase were such a wonderful couple. Their love for each other was shown in every moment of the day ... from the way they looked at each other, to how they laughed, to how they both cried while exchanging wedding vows. The day was full of love, happiness and laughter.

It was a beautiful day any way you looked at it.

These are some of my favorites of the day...

Rainy days are coming...

There are some rainy days coming. With out watching the weather, you can tell. It's gradually getting warmer and the wind has picked up to an uncomfortable gust. I sure hope that the weather holds off on Friday for Rebecca and Chase. If Mother Nature decides not to play nice, we will have to strap on our rain boots and maybe even get a shot or two of the bride and groom in a parting rainstorm under a big black umbrella ~ now I just need to find one!

My Newest Love...

My sweet little niece, Miss EmmaRose, was born May 6, 2009 to my wonderful sister and her husband. Miss Emma was 6 lbs 5 oz and 19 inches long ~ one fine, tall and skinny thing! She is beautiful (I may be biased, but I think you just might agree). Emma has two sweet older brothers that are 2-years old. They absolutely adore her. Joseph, one of her two brothers, is so kind and gentle with her, it's as if he intuitively knows how to take care of his little sister!

I was fortunate enough to be able to go to St. Louis the week Miss Emma was born. It was wonderful to be able to spend so much time with my sister and her family. Her boys are so sweet and good!

My sister is a rock-star as far as birthing babies. She had Emma completely natural ... and when I mean natural, I mean n-a-t-u-r-a-l. No pain meds, no IV. To add the the natural birth, the lights in just my sisters hospital room when out the last 45 minutes before Emma was born. Amazing girl, my sister!

More photos of Emma and her family will come soon. I'm will be going to St. Louis in a month or so to take some family portraits! I am a very, very proud aunt!
