“My work is a reflection of everyday life and places. I chose the medium of photography as a tool to capture the essence of the person or place. I create images to depict the subject as they are remembered in the mind. Not posed or unnatural, but as a window into the intimate world of the subject.”

Today I met up with Breanna and her sweet baby boy, Casey. Casey is 5 weeks-old and a DOLL! He was so sweet, well behaved and bright-eyed. We met up at Jester Park near the Lodge. The lighting was beautiful. It's been raining off and on all week so all of the plant-life was perky and colorful.
It was so nice to meet you Breanna and your sweet baby boy.

Laura and Jared are such a sweet couple and were so willing to do anything I asked. Stand here, look there, lay on the ground, sit in an uncomfortable position so I can take this shot ... hold it ... hold it ... done! Phew! Ha! I am so excited about their wedding next June. If the whole wedding party is as easy going as this couple... watch out! There is going to be some fun had!
Thanks Laura and Jared for spending a couple of hours with me for your E-session! I had a great time!

Amanda is a fellow photographer here in Des Moines. Last February she contacted me to see if I would be interested in doing a portrait session for her and her family. uh... YEAH!
We finally got our calendars together and took family portraits at Waterworks Park. If you've never been there, you really should. It has tons of great spots for family portraits!
Thanks Amanda! It was so nice to finally meet you and your family!

I know this couple fairly well. I've spent many a Friday night hanging with these two and boy are they a fun couple. Their wedding was no different. They made this wedding all their own.
It was a small, intimate wedding with only about 30 guests. The wedding took place at one of the most beautiful resorts at Lake of the Ozarks, Lodge of Four Seasons. The ceremony was on the beach and the required dress ... vacation wear! This was the first wedding I shot in bare feet! Nothing like sand between your toes!
The reception room had a marvelous view of the lake. Just after the reception, the lodge put on an awesome fireworks display. The lodge said it was for Labor Day, but we know it was really in celebration of this couples union. *smile*
Thank you Tiff and Trevor for a wonderful weekend. Dave and I both felt so blessed to be a part of one of the most important days in your new life together.
