I chose the medium of photography as a tool to capture the essence of the person or place. I create images to depict the subject as they are remembered in the mind. Not posed or unnatural, but as a window into the intimate world of the subject.” Jill Brown is a member of Professional Photographers of America.

First Family Camping Trip of the Season!

Date:  April 16-18, 2010
Location:  Timberline Campground

A little while ago, a good friend of mine - Becky of Willow Avenue Pottery - told me that I need to write more about me and not just about the photography I do professionally.  She was right... how boring is it that all you folks get to read is me talking about the work I do but hardly ever letting you know who I am.  :)

So here goes... a blog post about me and what I've been up to lately.

My family and I *LOVE* to go camping.  This past weekend was one of the few empty weekends I have of the Spring through Fall seasons, so we did some camping at Timberline Campground this weekend with friends!  It was a PeRfEcT weekend for camping.  The nights were cool and crisp.  The days were sunny and lukewarm.  Spring flowers were everywhere!

We ate Dave's famous chili, friends came just for a visit (and brought some very needed firewood - thank you!)  We stayed up until 2:30 AM by the fire with our friends, the Seidl family.

We had such a good time!

Here are some photos from the weekend:

This coming weekend I have a wedding and two portrait sessions in St. Louis.  Next week - if the weather hold out - I am going "trucking" for a day with Becky.  :)  That will be blogged as well.  YEAH!  I can't wait for that adventure!

Thanks all!  I hope you enjoyed your weekend as much as I enjoyed mine!

Be back soon!

I'm so glad you did a 'personal' blog post. Now we know all about you... well, some about you. :)

I see the critter! Ahh... nature.

Trucking will be fun. I always like having riders.. it makes it even more fun! :)

P.S. I love your funny little 14 year old dog. It reminds me of a gremlin, you know.. the nice one. :)

Yeah! I have to be honest - seeing a raccoon at 11:30 in the morning ... well it kinda freaked me out. I mean, what the heck is the raccoon doing out during the day??!! My thoughts were either (1) it's got some babies under that log or (2) it has rabies. I blocked out option 2.

Yeah Trucking! :) Heehee!

LOL... yes, Dave sometimes calls her his little Magwai. :) Sometimes she makes noises like them. She's a funny little doggie.
